Quran Nazira (New Lesson) Syllabus
Granular syllabus for advanced Nazira practice beyond Juz Amma, preparing students for Hifz or higher Quran studies.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this component, the student should be able to:
- Read assigned surahs/ajza outside Juz Amma with consistent Tajweed and fluency.
- Handle longer ayat and waqf (stopping) rules appropriately while reading.
- Maintain a daily habit of new lesson plus revision from previous portions.
- Demonstrate readiness to enter Hifz program or advanced Nazira streams.
Syllabus Structure (Stages 1–3)
This Nazira syllabus usually follows completion of Juz Amma and focuses on new portions from earlier juz, with strong emphasis on Tajweed and consistency.
Stage 1: Selected Surahs & Rukoo's from Juz 29–28
Gradual extension beyond Juz Amma using relatively shorter surahs and thematic passages.
- Begin with surahs such as Al‑Mulk, Al‑Qalam (selected rukoo's), Al‑Haqqah (short sections).
- Daily new lesson: a small portion (2–4 lines) with strong Tajweed focus.
- Teacher chooses passages appropriate to student ability and institutional goals.
- Mastery: student reads assigned sections without major Tajweed or waqf errors.
Stage 2: Continuous Rukoo' Reading (Connected Passages)
Training students to read longer connected passages rather than isolated ayat.
- Assign full rukoo's from selected surahs (e.g., Yaseen, Ar‑Rahman, Al‑Kahf segments).
- Daily new lesson: part of a rukoo'; weekly goal: complete 1–2 rukoo's.
- Practice correct waqf (stopping) and ibtida (starting) at suitable places.
- Mastery: student maintains flow through longer rukoo's without losing Tajweed quality.
Stage 3: Pre‑Hifz Consolidation
Ensuring reading strength before memorization or more advanced Quranic studies.
- Rotate surahs from different ajza so student experiences varied styles and lengths.
- Regular timed readings to develop steady pace without rushing.
- Teacher keeps a record of weak letters/rules and revisits them in targeted drills.
- Mastery: student can read any chosen page from assigned ajza with minimal correction.
Recommended Daily Lesson Pattern
For the Quran Nazira (new lesson) block (30–40 minutes) in Noorani Level 3:
- 5–10 minutes: warm‑up revision from yesterday's new lesson and a previous page.
- 10–15 minutes: teaching of new portion (line by line, then full passage).
- 10 minutes: individual listening – each student reads a part of the new lesson.
- 5 minutes: quick Tajweed feedback and setting of home/boarding revision targets.
