Nazira – Ampara Syllabus

Granular syllabus for Surah recitation from Juz Amma (Ampara) as part of Noorani Level 2.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this component, the student should be able to:

  • Read all surahs of Juz Amma (Surah An‑Naba to An‑Nas) with correct Tajweed.
  • Maintain steady pace and rhythm without excessive stretching or rushing.
  • Apply basic Tajweed rules already learned in Noorani Qaida.
  • Develop habit of daily Quran reading from the Mushaf.

Syllabus Structure (Stages A–C)

The Ampara Nazira syllabus is divided into stages, allowing teachers to move from shorter to longer surahs with systematic revision.

Stage A: Short Surahs (End of Juz Amma)

Begin from the back of the Qur'an with very short surahs to build confidence and fluency.

  • Typical order: An‑Nas, Al‑Falaq, Al‑Ikhlas, Al‑Lahab, An‑Nasr, Al‑Kafirun.
  • Teach line by line: listen–repeat method, then full ayah and full surah.
  • Daily revision of previous surahs before adding a new line or ayah.
  • Mastery: student reads these surahs directly from Mushaf with minimal correction.

Stage B: Medium Surahs (Central Juz Amma)

Move to slightly longer surahs where ayat are longer and Tajweed application is richer.

  • Suggested focus: Al‑Ma'un, Quraysh, Al‑Fil, Al‑Humazah, At‑Takathur, Al‑Asr, Al‑Qari'ah.
  • Divide each surah into logical segments (2–3 ayat per lesson).
  • Check application of rules like Ikhfa, Idgham, and Madd in every lesson.
  • Weekly reading test: 2–3 surahs in sequence from Mushaf without prompting.

Stage C: Longer Surahs (Beginning of Juz Amma)

Exposure to longer narrative surahs at the start of Juz Amma.

  • Focus examples: An‑Naba, An‑Nazi'at, Abasa, At‑Takwir (as age/level permits).
  • Short daily portion (half page or less) with strong Tajweed emphasis.
  • Encourage home revision or boarding‑house circles for these longer surahs.
  • Mastery: student can read assigned longer surahs at steady pace without frequent stops.

Recommended Daily Lesson Pattern

For the Nazira (Ampara) block (30–40 minutes) at Noorani Level 2:

  • 5–10 minutes: revision of yesterday's portion and 1–2 previously learned surahs.
  • 10–15 minutes: new portion (1–3 ayat), taught phrase by phrase, then full line.
  • 5–10 minutes: individual listening – teacher hears each child for a few lines.
  • 2–3 minutes: short reminder about adab‑ul‑Qur'an and proper sitting posture.
