Dua & Kalima Syllabus

Granular syllabus for memorizing the 6 Kalimas, daily duas, and short surahs as part of the Noorani Level 1 program.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this component, the student should be able to:

  • Memorize and recite the 6 Kalimas with correct pronunciation.
  • Recite core daily duas related to eating, sleeping, entering/leaving home, bathroom, and travel.
  • Recite a set of short surahs accurately (e.g., Al-Fatiha, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas).
  • Understand the basic meaning and context of selected duas and surahs at a child-friendly level.

Syllabus Structure (Modules A–D)

The syllabus is grouped into modules that can be spread across the Noorani Level 1 year. Teachers can pace each module based on student age and ability.

Module A: 6 Kalimas (Core Creed)

Memorization of the Six Kalimas with correct Tajweed and basic meaning.

  • Introduce one Kalima at a time, starting with Kalima Tayyibah.
  • Break each Kalima into short, repeatable phrases (2–3 words per phrase).
  • Daily routine: listen–repeat line by line, then recite full Kalima together.
  • Simple explanation of key words (e.g., "La ilaha illallah", "Muhammadur Rasulullah").
  • Mastery check: student recites each Kalima three times without major error.

Module B: Daily Duas (Adhkar of Daily Life)

Duas organized by context to help children connect practice with real life.

  • Morning & evening: dua when waking up and before sleeping; Ayat ul-Kursi recommended for advanced students.
  • Eating & drinking: dua before eating, after eating, drinking water, and basic table manners.
  • Home & masjid: dua for entering/leaving home, entering/leaving masjid.
  • Bathroom etiquette: dua before entering and after leaving the washroom.
  • Travel: simplified travel dua for short journeys with meaning.
  • Mastery: child can say the correct dua automatically when teacher names the situation.

Module C: Short Surahs for Salah & Protection

Emphasis on surahs most used in Salah and daily adhkar.

  • Core Salah surahs: Al-Fatiha, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas (priority group).
  • Additional short surahs by capacity: Al-Kawthar, Al-Asr, Al-Ma'un, Quraysh.
  • Method: listen to teacher, repeat small phrases, then join phrases into full surah.
  • Practice reciting in Salah posture to build habit (without making Salah invalid).
  • Mastery: student can recite each surah in correct order without prompting.

Module D: Meaning & Application (Age-Appropriate)

Light explanation of what the child is reciting to build understanding and love for Allah.

  • Use simple Bangla/English sentences to explain one key idea from each Kalima and dua.
  • For short surahs, focus on 1–2 key messages (e.g., Allah is One, Allah protects us).
  • Ask children when they can use each dua in their own life (role-play and scenarios).
  • Mastery: student can answer very basic "what is this dua for?" questions.

Recommended Daily Time Allocation

For Noorani Level 1, the Dua & Kalima block (around 30–40 minutes) can be structured as:

  • 5–10 minutes: quick revision of previously memorized dua/surah/Kalima.
  • 10–15 minutes: new lines or phrases from the current module.
  • 10 minutes: meaning discussion, role-play, and application to daily life.
  • 5 minutes: group recitation, short reminder, and closing dua.
