Syllabus Structure (Phases 1–4)
The syllabus is divided into four phases which can be spread across the Noorani Level 1 year. Teachers may adjust pacing according to student needs.
Phase 1: Letter Recognition (বর্ণ চিনো)
Visual and oral recognition of all Bangla consonants and vowels.
- Introduce letters in small groups (e.g., ক–গ–খ, ট–ঠ–ড etc.).
- Use charts, flashcards, and board writing for multi‑sensory exposure.
- Daily drill: pointing to random letters, students say names together and individually.
- Mastery: student can name any letter when teacher points randomly.
Phase 2: Handwriting & Stroke Practice (হাতের লেখা)
Correct formation of each letter using workbooks or lined copybooks.
- Teach basic strokes: vertical, horizontal, curves, and joining lines.
- Model letter writing on the board; students copy in large boxes first.
- Gradually move to smaller ruled lines to improve neatness and proportion.
- Mastery: student can write each letter legibly within the line without reversal.
Phase 3: Simple Words & Phonics (শব্দ পড়া)
Early reading skills with 2–3 letter words connected to child's environment.
- Start with simple, frequently used words (e.g., মা, পানি, বই, কলম).
- Blend consonant and vowel sounds slowly, then increase speed.
- Use picture‑word matching cards to link meaning and reading.
- Mastery: student can read short word lists without tracing or spelling aloud.
Phase 4: Rhymes & Moral Songs (ছড়া ও নৈতিক গান)
Memorization of short Bangla rhymes with Islamic and moral themes.
- Begin with 2–4 line rhymes about Allah, parents, and good manners.
- Use actions and rhythm to keep children engaged and aid memory.
- Reinforce vocabulary from rhymes during Bangla conversation time.
- Mastery: student can recite selected rhymes clearly and confidently.
